This Privacy Policy explains how G-TEC eLessons (“G-TEC eLessons,” “we,” “us” or “our”) handles information when you use the G-TEC eLessons - CBSE Learning app, elessons.net, or the related student learning service (collectively, the “Service”).
For parents and guardians: The Service provides learning content for school students. If a student is below the age at which they may consent to data processing in their country, a parent or guardian should create, manage, or approve the student’s account and contact us about privacy requests.
1. Information we handle
Information you provide
- Contact and enquiry information, such as your name, email address, phone number and message.
- Account and enrolment information needed to create and administer a student learning account, such as the student’s name, grade, selected course and parent/guardian contact details.
- Support communications you send through WhatsApp, email, telephone or the Service.
Information generated when you use the Service
- Learning-service information, such as account access and course enrolment, where it is required to provide access to lessons and notes.
- Basic technical information supplied by your browser or device, such as browser type, device type, language, pages requested and log information used to operate, secure and troubleshoot the Service.
- Approximate country information. On our website, we may use your IP address through third-party geolocation services to select the appropriate regional price display and contact options. We do not request or use precise GPS location for this purpose.
We do not ask for government ID, contacts, call logs, SMS messages, precise location, photos, microphone recordings or payment-card numbers through the website. Do not send sensitive personal information to us through an enquiry form or WhatsApp unless we specifically ask for it through an appropriate secure process.
2. How we use information
- Respond to enquiries and provide admissions, customer support and technical support.
- Create, administer and secure learning accounts and provide purchased course access.
- Process and manage enrolment, including confirming the course and regional pricing selected.
- Maintain, protect and improve the Service; prevent fraud, misuse and security incidents; and comply with applicable legal obligations.
We do not sell personal information or use it for interest-based advertising.
3. When information is shared
We share information only as needed to operate the Service, provide a feature you choose, comply with law, or protect users and our rights. This can include:
- Student LMS and store: When you continue to the student login or store, the relevant account, enrolment and transaction information is handled by the eLessons Student LMS to provide your learning access.
- WhatsApp: If you choose to contact us on WhatsApp, WhatsApp/Meta handles the message under its own terms and privacy policy. We receive the information you choose to send us.
- Geolocation providers: The website may send your IP address to country-lookup services to obtain an approximate country code for regional pricing. Those providers process that request under their own privacy policies.
- Service providers and authorities: Providers that help operate, secure or support the Service, and public authorities where disclosure is required by law.
4. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical and organisational safeguards designed to protect personal information from unauthorised access, loss, misuse or disclosure. No online service can guarantee absolute security; please use a strong, unique password for your learning account and keep credentials private.
5. Retention and account deletion
We keep personal information only for as long as needed to provide the Service, meet the purposes described in this policy, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and meet legal, accounting or security obligations. When information is no longer required, we delete it or de-identify it where appropriate.
Request account deletion: Use our account-deletion request page, or email contact@elessons.net with the subject “Account deletion request” and include the account email address and student name. A parent or guardian may make this request for a student. We may ask for information necessary to verify ownership before acting on the request. We will delete the account and associated personal information that we are not required or permitted to retain; limited information may be retained where necessary for legal, fraud-prevention, accounting or security purposes.
You may also contact us to request access to or correction of personal information, subject to applicable law.
6. International use
The Service is available to users in more than one country. Information may be processed in the countries where G-TEC eLessons, the Student LMS, WhatsApp or our service providers operate. We take steps appropriate to the nature of the information to protect it when it is processed internationally.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our practices or legal obligations change. We will post the updated version here and revise the “Last updated” date. If a change is material, we will provide additional notice where required by law.
